Outfitters Trips & Info by State Arizona | HOME > Montana Pronghorn Antelope Hunting Montana Antelope Hunting | Guides, Outfitters & LodgesBelow is a list of
every Montana guide, lodge, and outfitter offering pronghorn antelope
hunts. I made this directory (with actual links) to give you the largest
source of places to hunt antelope in Montana. Every outfitter is
different. Some spend a lot of money getting a fancy website built, some
choose to build their sites themselves. It is important to remember
that the look of a website has nothing to do with the quality of the
hunt. I encourage you to take a look at each outfitter, pick a few that
interest you, and then give them a quick call or E-mail. I hope this
resource helps you on your search for a quality Montana antelope
hunt. Do some "sight-seeing" before you find a Montana antelope hunt...You're Welcome !!! Our pronghorn hunting is done on private and public lands. Methods of hunting are sitting at water holes, blinds, stalking and using decoys. The terrain is rolling open sagebrush plains. Hidden Valley Outfitters / Wibaux, MT / (406) 795-8286 During archery season we do most of the hunting from ground blinds placed at waterholes. The shot distances will be 35-60 yards. We do decoying and stalking to bring the mature herd bucks in close enough for a good shot. Often during the rut a buck will come to within 10 yards or even attempt to run you and the decoy over. This can be one of the most exciting and unforgettable hunts you will ever encounter. We also offer Montana rifle antelope hunts. Here is a western big game hunt that everyone must do at least once. The early October weather offers lots of fun and action at an affordable price. The country we hunt in Eastern Montana produces some of the largest horned antelope in the state. The average is just over 13 inches and bucks 15 and even over 16 inches have been taken every year. You will often see 50 to 100 antelope daily and success rate runs 97%-100% on these hunts. J & J Guide Service / Ekalaka, MT / (406) 775-8891 We are second generation outfitters with two camps in operation in central and southeastern Montana to ensure our hunters the finest hunting that Montana has to offer. For our MT archery antelope hunts, we will use various hunting techniques such as spot and stalk, or sitting over waterholes, but by far the most enjoyable, exciting and productive method is the use of a small buck decoy. We do not offer archery only pronghorn hunts. Montana has a four week rifle antelope season that opens two weeks prior to deer season and closes two weeks after deer season opens. Rifle hunting for antelope is almost purely spot and stalk with an excellent chance of taking one of the most beautiful and exotic animals in North America. This hunt is perfect for a man/wife, father/son or daughter as it is not unusual to see over 100 antelope per day insuring nonstop action and hunting excitement. J.M. We have been in the outfitting business for the past 20 years. Our hunter success rate has remained between 95% and 100%. It is not unusual for us to see 10 to 15 bucks a day. Most of our trophy antelope hunting is done on four large leased ranches outside of Jordan, totaling 70,000 acres. Spot and stalk is our normal method of hunting. Most of our hunters take antelope in the 13 to 15 inch class. We have nice weather during antelope season and we see lots of antelope. This is a hunt you won't soon forget. Montana Whitetails, Inc. / Wilsall, MT / (717) 362-8831 Archery hunters can hunt antelope during the early archery only season here in Montana. This runs from early September to early October. Early season is a good time to hunt antelope over water. However, with ample water running through our leases, this can be tough to narrow down which area is frequented the most. These antelope on our leases are a little more spread out due to the fact there are lots of places to feed and water. For our Montana rifle antelope hunts, you will be hunting the same general areas for trophy mule deer where you will find the antelope on our leases. This option is very flexible for our hunters in giving them a chance to harvest a trophy antelope while hunting with us on combo hunts. Our trophy antelope hunters in the past have had very good success on 15“ + antelope. Musselshell Outfitters / Roundup, MT / (406) 323-3042 Our archery antelope hunt often takes place near water holes. Clients can also spot and stalk if they wish. We will have several blinds set up before the client arrives where antelope are coming into water holes to drink. Shots from 15 to 30 yards can be expected when the antelope arrive at the water hole. On this hunt you can hunt all day or take a break in the middle of the day, eat lunch, then head back out to the hunting area. We also offer rifle antelope hunts in Montana. Do not mistake open country for flat country. This country can hide hundreds of animals due to the deep coulees, and the natural contours of the terrain. This is the same type country where General Custer underestimated what the wide open terrain can hide. This country is great for spotting and stalking antelope. A hunter should be prepared to shoot from 200 yards to 400 yards if possible. If a client only feels comfortable shooting out to 300 yards, then we will work at getting closer. Rick Wemple Outfitting, Inc. / Victor, MT / (800) 725-4306 If you want to have a lot of fun, see a lot of game and get plenty of shooting, try one of our Montana pronghorn antelope hunts in Eastern Montana. These hunts usually run 100% success. I hunt on private land and all access fees, food, and transportation during the hunt are furnished. The hunts are spot and stalk using 4-wheelers for transportation along with some walking. Fourteen to 15 inch bucks are quite common and occasionally hunters will take 16 inch or better bucks. Archery Antelope tags are NOT on a drawing. Rifle antelope licenses are on a drawing. If by chance you do not draw a permit, I will transfer the deposit to a hunt the following year, or a different hunt, it’s your choice.
